Analytics & Research
Julius AI
Chat with a spreadsheet or CSV
Julius is the analyst-in-a-chat for a file you upload. Good for ad-hoc. Not your warehouse.
Buyer verdict
Julius AI is a strong fit for analysts and operators who need to interrogate files quickly and inspect the code behind the result. It should not become an unofficial semantic layer: the buying test is whether another analyst can reproduce the calculation, find the source row, and catch a bad assumption before the chart travels.

What it costs

| Plan | Published price | What to notice |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | A small monthly allowance for basic file analysis. |
| Plus | $20 monthly or $200 annually | 2,000 monthly credits and one seat. |
| Pro | $45 monthly or $450 annually | Higher individual usage for advanced analysis. |
| Business | $450 monthly or $4,500 annually | Ten seats, 45,000 monthly credits, data connections, and one custom agent. |

Worked cost check
Ten Plus seats at the published monthly rate total $200 a month. The Business plan is $450 a month and includes ten seats, but its case depends on shared data connections, administration, and usage—not seat arithmetic alone. Price analyst review, data preparation, and correction alongside the subscription.
Where it earns the seat
- • People repeatedly receive CSV or spreadsheet questions that do not justify a permanent dashboard.
- • The team values visible analysis code and an exportable result more than a prose-only answer.
- • A responsible analyst will check joins, units, missing values, outliers, and the business definition before publishing.
Where it faceplants
- • A polished visualization is accepted before anyone inspects duplicated rows, mixed units, or an unstable denominator.
- • Teams ask Julius to define a company metric that should come from a governed semantic layer.
- • Sensitive files are uploaded before retention, access, location, and deletion requirements are reviewed.
A test that produces a buying answer
Run these jobs with your data. Record the result before anyone discusses whether the interface feels modern.
TEST 1
Analyze one hostile spreadsheet
Measure: Correct treatment of nulls, duplicates, mixed currencies, and the largest outlier.
TEST 2
Reproduce the answer
Measure: Whether a second analyst can recreate every material number from the saved steps and code.
TEST 3
Change one assumption
Measure: Whether filters, joins, and derived fields update visibly without silent breakage.
TEST 4
Review the data boundary
Measure: Plan controls, storage, deletion, permissions, audit evidence, and approved data classes.

More Analytics & Research tools
More tools in this category. Confirm list prices on the vendor page.
Market intelligence search for operators who live in transcripts
AlphaSense is licensed content plus search: transcripts, filings, broker research. Perplexity is not a substitute for that corpus.
Work graph search across the tools you already pay for
Glean is internal search with permissions. Buy it when the wiki is a junk drawer. It is not a public research engine.
Cited answers instead of a link dump
Perplexity is the research seat with citations. Use it for current events and competitor pages. Still verify anything that can move money.
Document matrix for diligence and research
Hebbia is for packet-scale document questions — diligence, filings, memos. A chat window is the wrong UI for that job.
BI with an Einstein/Pulse copilot layer
Tableau is the visualization system of record for many orgs. Pulse/AI is a layer on trusted extracts — not a reason to skip a semantic model.
Search-first analytics for business users
ThoughtSpot is search-over-the-warehouse for people who will not open a workbook. Still needs a governed semantic layer.
Microsoft BI with Copilot in the tenant
Power BI is the default BI if you already pay Microsoft. Copilot needs a clean model. Do not skip the dataset owner.
AI search with modes, not just one chat
You.com is another cited-search seat with research modes. Use it if Perplexity is blocked or you want ARI-style research runs.
No-code predictions on a spreadsheet
Akkio is “train a model on this CSV” without a data-science hire. Fine for lead scores. Not a data platform.
